On Dec. 17, 1903, the Wright Brothers made world history by putting together a wooden frame with some metal fittings and heavy cotton fabric, and giving it power to gain altitude for a controlled flight. It was an amazing feat, made possible with a can-do attitude and a drive to truly conquer new heightsIt takes a particular type of personality to be cool with jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. All the warning alarms that evolution provided humans for self-preservation start blaring at once. Somehow though, you still jump. I’ve been fortunate enough to experience it first-hand but never like the Special Forces group that I spent the day with at MacDill Air Force Base.
